Great Book Recommendations
The Girl Scout Book Club is a chance to share your thoughts about books.
Here Girl Scouts from all over recommend great books for you to read:
Kayla, 9, Pennsylvania (Girl Scout Brownie)
My favorite book is Piano Lessons Can Be Murder, by R.L Stine. It is part of the Goosebumps series. It is a very good book and I encourage you to read it.
Konata, 10, North Dakota (Girl Scout Junior)
My favorite book is Don't Die, My Love by Lurlene McDaniel. I love all her books, but this was the first one I read and I have to say, it is by far my favorite. I've recommended it to all my friends, and now I am recommending it to everyone here; it's awesome and sad too. It doesn't end like typical books, and I cried when I was finished. Another one of her best books is A Rose for Melinda, but that's one of her newer ones. Thanks for listening!
Jamie, 10, Florida (Girl Scout Junior)
Hi, I have read the series of Spiderwick Chronicles. It is a good book and it's about three kids that find a book and their great, great grandpa Arthur Spiderwick made it and they find a whole new world.
Chile, 15, United Kingdom
I recently read a book called Winter Rose. It is an amazing book. It is so touching.
Hannah, 8, Indiana (Girl Scout Brownie)
My favorite books are The Little House on the Prairie books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Dasya, 12, Pennsylvania
My fave book is called Quinceañera Means Sweet 15.It's about two girls who are turning 15 in May. One gets in trouble for stealing and the one who didn't know if she was going to have a party at all, has a huge party.
Airika, 11, Arizona (Girl Scout Junior)
I think that the Nancy Drew series of books are great! She is a detective who has thrilling mysteries to solve all the time! I love them because they are books from when my grandma was my age, and I can share the fun with her!
Regan, 11, Iowa (Girl Scout Junior)
My fave book is The Cat in the Hat. As you all probably know its author is the one and only Dr. Seuss. I for one love all his books. I like them because they rhyme. I LOVE all books that rhyme.
You, too, can share your thoughts about books: What book would you recommend to a girl your age? Why?
We look forward to hearing from you – and keep writing!
